Double immersion
Capturing an Immersive Exhibition with the Insta360 Camera
Immersive exhibitions are a feast for the senses—videos projected across all four walls, wrapping you in a dynamic, 360-degree world.
Recently, I had the chance to record one of these mind-blowing setups using my Insta360 camera, and it was the perfect tool for the job. Check it out for yourself:
The Scene: A Four-Wall Wonder
Picture this: I stepped into a room where every wall pulsed with life.
Video projections flowed seamlessly—a starry galaxy swirling on another. The scale and immersion were unreal, and I knew a standard camera wouldn’t cut it.
Enter the Insta360, my go-to for capturing everything, everywhere, all at once.
Why the Insta360 Worked So Well
The Insta360—whether it’s the X3, X4, or another model like the ONE Rs—is built for moments like this. Its 360-degree dual-lens system records every angle in crisp detail (up to 8K on the X4), making it ideal for an exhibition that’s designed to surround you.
Plus, with features like FlowState Stabilization and a compact design, it’s easy to wield in a crowded or dimly lit space without missing a beat.
How I Recorded It
Here’s how I tackled filming this four-wall spectacle:
Central Positioning: I placed the Insta360 on the invisible stick integrated tripod right in the middle of the room. This let it capture all four walls in one continuous shot, mimicking the wraparound feel of being there.
I just sit back and delve into the magic rather than caring about positioning my camera.
Editing the Magic
Back home, the Insta360 app made reliving the exhibition a breeze.
The raw 360-degree footage was a treasure trove—I could reframe it to focus on a single wall’s projection or keep it wide to show the full surround effect.
Why It’s Worth It
Recording an immersive exhibition with the Insta360 isn’t just about archiving—it’s about reliving and sharing an experience that’s tough to describe in words.
A single photo or standard video can’t do justice to four walls of moving art, but this camera comes darn close. Whether you’re a content creator, a memory hoarder, or just a fan of cool tech, it’s a fantastic way to bottle that magic.
